Officer Arrested for Fraud in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: A cadastral officer in the district of Saang at Kandal province has been continuously accused of fraud by authorities and is now in custody at Phnom Penh. The criminal, Meas Ponleu, was born in Svay Rieng province, but is currently residing in Kandal’s Takhmao city.

His first accusation started three years ago, when a case was open in March of 2019, in Phnom Penh. A sequence of lawsuits followed the first accusation, all of them based on Article 278 of the Penal Code, which can be punished by imprisonment.

His attempts of ignoring justice have now come to an end this Wednesday, September 29, when Phnom Penh Municipal Judge San Bunthoeun has ordered the arrest of Meas Ponleu
